Sunny Deol to adapt Hollywood vigilante film starring Kevin Bacon
Last week, a report stated that Sunny was set to make his OTT debut in a film produced by Suparn Verma. Now more details have emerged about their collaboration, including filming and director details. According to a report in Pinkvilla, the actor is set to make his Netflix debut with an action thriller directed by We Are Family filmmaker Siddharth P Malhotra.
About Hollywood film Death Sentence
Directed by James Wan, Death Sentence features Bacon as an executive named Nick Hume who becomes a vigilante after his son is killed during a gang initiation. The rest of the cast stars Garrett Hedlund, Kelly Preston, Aisha Tyler, and John Goodman. Written by Ian Jeffers, the story is loosely based on Brian Garfield’s 1975 novel Death Sentence.
Sunny Deol’s upcoming projects
The actor has a busy 2025 completing previously announced projects Border 2, Lahore 1947, and Ramayana Part 1. The source added, “Sunny will be shooting for Border 2 until the end of June, following which he is expected to finish his prior commitments of Lahore: 1947. He then switches gears for a small schedule of Ramayana with Nitesh Tiwari, where he plays the part of Hanuman.”
The sequels for Jaat and Gadar 2 are also said to be in development. The Netflix India adaptation of Death Sentence is expected to release in 2026.
