Tonight’s (June 13) episode of SmackDown featured an opening round match in the King of the Ring tournament between Randy Orton, LA Knight, Carmelo Hayes, and Aleister Black.
Knight’s run in the tournament was sabotaged by Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker, who interfered late in the match to attack him. There are no disqualifications in a 4-way match, so the Paul Heyman Guys decided to pay back the megastar for getting involved in Breakker’s tournament match earlier this week on Raw.
Carmelo Hayes thought he had the match in hand with Knight wiped out, but he was caught in mid-air by an RKO on top of Knight’s body, allowing Orton to pick up the win.
That means it will be Sami Zayn vs. Randy Orton in the second round of the King of the Ring tournament.
