A sequel to Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is moving forward at Netflix. While David Fincher will be taking the helm, the follow-up film will bring back Brad Pitt as Cliff Booth, the former stuntman from the original. Now, some of his co-stars are being revealed.
Per The Hollywood Reporter, newcomers to the cast of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’s sequel include Scott Caan and Elizabeth Debicki. Details about their characters have not yet been revealed, as the plot of the movie remains mostly shrouded in mystery. All that’s known is that the film is expected to be set in a later time period, and it’s also unclear if any material from Tarantino’s 2021 tie-in novel, which divulged some of Cliff’s backstory, will be utilized.

According to THR, Tarantino was initially considering having the film serve as his final movie as director before shelving that idea. Pitt, wanting to see the story come to life, reportedly urged Tarantino to pass the keys to Fincher. After the deal was made, the sequel has been set to start filming in California in July. However, this information has not been officially confirmed by Netflix as of this time.
Scott Caan and Elizabeth Debicki Are Now Part of the Cast
Caan is reuniting with Pitt for the project; the two previously co-starred in a trio of Ocean’s Eleven franchise films. The actor is also known for his TV roles as Danny “Danno” Williams in the CBS reboot of Hawaii Five-0 and Scott Lavin in the HBO series Entourage. He has more recently starred in the Fox procedural Alert: Missing Persons Unit alongside Danira Ramirez. The son of Hollywood legend James Caan, he has also appeared in other films like Meet Dave, A Beginner’s Guide to Endings, Two for One, and One Day as a Lion.

Debicki is an Emmy and Golden Globe winner who’s partly known for her acclaimed work as Princess Di in the Netflix series The Crown. She last appeared on the big screen in the horror movie MaXXXine, with her other film credits including The Great Gatsby, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., The Cloverfield Paradox, Tenet, and Widows.
Released in 2019, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is serving as Tarantino’s penultimate film as director, as he’s been consistent with his claims that his next feature film will be his last. The film was set in 1969 in Los Angeles, following actor Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio) and his stunt double (Pitt) navigating Hollywood as the infamous Manson Family murders approach. Along with Pitt and DiCaprio, the movie also featured Margot Robbie, Emile Hirsch, Margaret Qualley, Al Pacino, and Austin Butler.
