From Loyalty Tests to Murder Mysteries, Hungama OTT’s Show ‘Rose Garden’ Redefines the Thriller Genre

Hungama OTT, one of India’s leading digital entertainment platforms, launched its latest original series, Rose Garden, on 17th July 2025, a crime thriller where mystery, romance, and emotional turmoil collide in unexpected ways. Boasting striking visuals, shocking twists, and exemplary performances, the series is brought to life by Akanksha Puri, Niyatii Fatnani, Maninee De & Neel Samarthh in pivotal roles.

Set in a quaint Punjabi village, Rose Garden follows the lives of two beautiful sisters and their enigmatic mother, whose haunted past looms large on their present. The mother teaches her daughters two things: how to nurture the most stunning rose garden in the region and how to play a dangerous game to test the loyalty of men who profess love. But when one sister falls in love, a missing person’s case draws the police to the village, setting off a chain of revelations that threaten to destroy everything.

Speaking about the launch, Siddhartha Roy, CEO of Hungama Digital Media, shared, “Rose Garden is an emotional and gripping story that explores love, family, and hidden truths. It’s a slow-burn mystery that pulls you in from the first scene and keeps you guessing. With powerful performances and thoughtful storytelling, it’s a show that lingers with you long after it ends.”

Akanksha Puri, who plays Geet, said, “Playing Geet reminded me of the fearless performer in me. She

doesn’t just move through the story—she storms into it, and that’s what made her so thrilling to portray.

Stepping into her world felt like a reconnection with the skills I’ve always enjoyed. From cars to trucks to

tractors—I’ve driven them all, so doing my own scenes in Rose Garden was not just exciting, it was empowering.”

Niyatii Fatnani, who portrays Simran, added, “Simran might appear sweet, but there’s a sharpness to her, a calculating mind masked by charm. She is always one step ahead, carefully laying out every move. What fascinated me about Simran was this duality—she uses vulnerability as a strategy. Playing her meant peeling back layers of manipulation, desire, and control. Rose Garden is a story of games and power plays, and Simran knows exactly how to play to win.”

Maninee De, who essays the role of the mother, remarked, “This is not just the story of a mother, but of a woman who has endured betrayal, loss, and fear—and turned all of that into a rulebook for survival. Harleen Kaur is where the story begins; her choices set everything in motion. She passes on love in a deeply twisted form, and that contradiction was both painful and fascinating to portray. Every decision she makes is layered with past trauma. I think many viewers, especially women, will feel deeply conflicted watching her—and that’s exactly why this character stayed with me long after we wrapped the shoot.”

Neel Samarthh, who plays a key role in the series, shared, “At first, my character walks into what seems like a dream—two enchanting sisters, a tranquil village, and a mesmerizing rose garden. But it quickly unravels into something far more sinister. The role required a careful balance of restraint, emotional depth, and a constant undercurrent of tension. Rose Garden challenges perception—it explores trust, deception, and the true meaning of love when it’s pushed to its limits. That’s what made the experience so compelling.”
