Who’s who in the cast of Netflix’s Narnia?
Published in 1955, The Magician’s Nephew is the prequel to The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, arguably the most popular book in the Narnia series. Gerwig is writing and directing the feature, which sees two children, Diggory Kirke and Polly Plummer, accidentally unleash the evil White Witch in turn-of-the-20th-century London with the help of an uncle’s magical dabbling.

Produced by Mark Gordon, Amy Pascal, and Vincent Sieber, Gerwig’s adaptation of The Magician’s Nephew will be getting a two-week theatrical IMAX release in late 2026. Production on the first film is expected to begin in July 2025 at Shepperton Studios in the UK. With Gerwig attached to the project, several Hollywood A-listers were interested in the upcoming feature, including Margaret Qualley, Charli XCX, Saoirse Ronan, Natalie Portman, Daisy Ridley, and Brie Larson.
