The latest addition to the Final Destination franchise, Bloodlines, has become a major hit at the Indian box office. It has recorded yet another fantastic weekend, approximately grossing over Rs 6.5 crore (USD 750k), making its total earnings stand at over Rs 65 crore approx. (USD 7.60 million), reported Pinkvilla.
The film directed by Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein, revolves around a college student (played by Kaitlyn Santa Juana), who inherits visions of a previous premonition averting a deadly structural collapse from her grandmother, and is warned that Death is coming for her family. The film, released fourteen years after the last installment in the series, is described as a “re-imagining” of the franchise.
Not only has the horror-thriller beaten expectations, it has also become the second-highest grossing Hollywood horror film in India, right behind Conjuring 2 (Rs 83.25 Cr), which was released back in 2016. It is an impressive feat, considering the release of Tom Cruise’s Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning opened mid-weekend; a tough competition for the slasher sequel.
However, the horror-thriller has managed to hold its own against the big action franchise, continuing its growth over the weekend. It has managed to amass over $232 million worldwide, making it the highest-grossing film of the franchise, as well as the ninth highest-grossing film of 2025.
The franchise has always had a popular cult following in India, but owing to limited screens and even lesser penetration of Hollywood content, it was unable to make its mark on the Indian box office, until now. Thanks to evolving theatrical landscapes and an increasing appetite for global horror content, the latest installment has managed to become a raging success.
In its second week, Final Destination: Bloodlines has outperformed other bigger Hollywood franchises like Thor: Love and Thunder, Jurassic World: Dominion, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
On the global front, India has become one of the top markets for Bloodlines, just behind the UK and Mexico. In terms of tickets sold, it is a tough competition between India and Mexico, and is likely to finish as a close second.
