Luxury resort operator Aman is expanding into the world of luxury cruising with the debut of its first yacht, Amangati, set to launch in the Mediterranean in summer 2027.
The 47-suite vessel, currently under construction at T.Mariotti in Genoa, will bring the brand’s signature blend of exclusivity, minimalist design, and world-class service to the high seas.
The name Amangati, derived from the Sanskrit word meaning “peaceful motion”, reflects the serene, peaceful experience Aman is known for in its land-based properties. The yacht will feature an array of luxury facilities, including four international dining concepts, a Jazz Club, an Aman Spa with a Japanese garden, and a Beach Club offering direct access to the water at the stern.
Aman’s chairman and CEO, Vlad Doronin, highlighted the significance of the launch, saying, “Naming Amangati marks a pivotal and inspiring milestone for Aman. The vessel will embody the very essence of our brand’s DNA, providing exceptional privacy, best in class amenities, and our signature unparalleled service not yet experienced on the water.”
Aman’s flagship yacht, Amandira, also exemplifies the brand’s commitment to luxury cruising. This custom-built, two-masted phinisi sailing and diving vessel accommodates up to 10 guests in five air-conditioned cabins. With a crew of 14, including two private chefs, a dive master, and a spa therapist, Amandira offers exceptional service, including gourmet dining and unparalleled access to Indonesia’s pristine reefs. Guests can enjoy water activities such as snorkeling, kayaking, and paddle-boarding, as well as wellness experiences like massages and yoga on the beach.
Aman’s expansion into cruising with Amangati reflects a growing trend among hospitality companies venturing into the waters, including Ritz-Carlton, which launched the Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection in 2022, and Four Seasons, which is set to debut its yacht collection in 2025. Bulgari is also planning a fleet of luxury yachts, while Orient Express, known for its iconic trains, is launching a luxury cruise line.
