Kumar Sanu was unaware about daughter Shannon K’s big-sceen debut

”She picked an ensemble cast movie, I’m proud of her”: Kumar Sanu on daughter Shannon K’s acting debut.

Legendary singer Kumar Sanu has enjoyed a storied career both as one of the premiere playback singers in Bollywood and on stage, besides having intermittently lent his mellifluous voice to movies in other languages, including Bengali, Marathi, Gujarati, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada. The Padma Shri and multiple Filmfare Award winner also holds the Guinness world record for having crooned the maximum songs in a single day.

Shannon K, his daughter is also a talented singer, steadily carving her niche in the musical world since 2018. However, the lass’ interests also lie before the camera as she’s set to make her feature-film debut in a full-fledged role alongside Sanjay Mishra, Mita Vasisht, and Vivek Dahiya in the movie, Chal Zindagi, directed by Vivek Sharma.

Surprisingly, Sanuda was oblivious about his baby girl’s acting debut till she actually signed and started shooting for the film, but is now chuffed about her decision.

“Shannon came to Mumbai and told me the news later, when they started shooting for couple of days. She actually wanted to make sure of everything before she tells me as she was little nervous about how I will react!

That’s why I was unaware about Shannon had signed her first acting debut in Chal Zindagi. She makes her own work decisions because we as parents raised her to be independent. She is a very obedient child and shares everything with mom. I’m little bit strict so she gets nervous sometimes. She picked an ensemble cast movie, which makes me proud of her,” Kumar Sanu said.

Meanwhile, Kumar Sanu is keeping himself busy after spending more than 4 decades in the industry with playback singing, stage shows, and his independent singles.
