Elizabeth Debicki and Scott Caan have teamed up with director David Fincher for the sequel of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
The original film was set in 1969 Los Angeles, following fading TV actor Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio) and his stunt double Cliff Booth (Brad Pitt) as they navigate a changing Hollywood.
Reported by Variety, for its Netflix’s follow-up Debicki and Caan will star alongside Pitt, who is reprising his role.
The project remains highly secretive, but it is set to revolve around Booth.
As per The Hollywood Reporter, it is set in a later time period than the 2019 movie. It is unclear how much of the material, if any, is based on Quentin Tarantino’s 2021 novel by the same name and which revealed more of Cliff’s backstory, including the death of his wife.
The story’s origins lie in a script that Tarantino wrote for himself to direct, but eventually put it aside. Pitt then convinced the filmmaker to let Fincher take a role at directing it.
The film is set to start productions in July in California. The release date is yet to be announced.
