“Nutritionist Rujuta Diwekar Challenges Popular Anti-Inflammatory Diet, Emphasizes Lifestyle Changes”

The anti-inflammation diet gained significant attention after celebrities like Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Vidya Balan shared how it helped with their inflammatory conditions. Recently, nutritionist Rujuta Diwekar, who works with Kareena Kapoor, challenged the effectiveness of this diet and shared her perspective.

In a video posted on Instagram, Diwekar explained that inflammation is a natural bodily response and plays a crucial role in recovery and healing. She emphasized that it can be managed with lifestyle changes rather than relying on a specific diet. Factors such as food, stress, and sleep quality all play a part in regulating inflammation. She stressed that there is no quick fix for managing inflammation and that consuming homemade meals can make a big difference.

Diwekar also mentioned that both too much and too little exercise could lead to chronic inflammation over time. She pointed out that maintaining good sleep hygiene is often overlooked but is essential for recovery and aging. She concluded by highlighting the importance of stress management in overall health.

The Anti-Inflammatory Diet:  

An anti-inflammatory diet focuses on foods that help reduce inflammation, which is linked to chronic conditions like arthritis, heart disease, and some cancers. The diet encourages the consumption of foods with anti-inflammatory properties, such as fruits, vegetables, whole grains, healthy fats, legumes, nuts, seeds, herbs, spices, and green tea, while avoiding foods that can trigger inflammation.  

It is advised to limit or avoid the following:

– Processed foods and refined sugars (e.g., sugary snacks and sodas)

– Trans fats and hydrogenated oils (found in fast food, snacks, and fried foods)

– Red and processed meats (like bacon and sausages)

Excessive alcohol

– Refined grains (e.g., white bread and pasta)
