Maserati has revealed a leadership transition in its motorsport division, effective October 1, 2024. Giovanni Sgro, who has overseen Maserati’s sporting activities for the past two years, will be succeeded by Maria Conti as Head of Maserati Corse.
The brand expressed appreciation for Sgro’s dedication and contributions that helped return Maserati to competitive racing.
Maria Conti will report directly to Maserati CEO Davide Grasso and will operate under the guidance of Jean-Marc Finot, Senior VP at Stellantis Motorsport. With over 20 years of experience in automotive communication and lifestyle sectors, Conti previously held the position of Chief Communication Officer for the House of the Trident.
Conti’s appointment is historic as she becomes the first woman to head Maserati’s motorsport activities. Her return from maternity leave aligns with her new role, and her recognized expertise and creativity are expected to invigorate Maserati’s competitive edge on the track.
During his tenure, Giovanni Sgro played a crucial role in Maserati’s participation in the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship and the Fanatec GT2 European Series. He also contributed to the development and launch of the Maserati MCXtrema halo car. Davide Grasso acknowledged Sgro’s passion and commitment to enhancing Maserati’s racing efforts.
Maserati produces a wide range of vehicles known for their distinctive personality and style, incorporating advanced technology and exclusive features appealing to discerning buyers globally. The lineup includes models like the Grecale SUV, GranTurismo grand tourer, and GranCabrio convertible.

### Future Electric Plans
Maserati is dedicated to electrification, planning to offer full-electric versions of all models by 2025, with the entire range transitioning to electric power by 2028. Current electric offerings include the GranTurismo Folgore and the Grecale Folgore SUV.
